Travelling across the Solent on foot or by bicycle? Use any of our three well-connected routes, getting you to and from the Isle of Wight from as little as 22 minutes.

All our foot passenger tickets, except for Family tickets, can be purchased online. We recommend booking online to guarantee a spot on your chosen sailing.

Tips for foot passenger travel

  • You can bring your bike for free when travelling as a foot passenger

  • If you plan to travel regularly, you might benefit from one of our frequent travel passes

Ticket types

Single

One sailing to or from the Isle of Wight. From £14.00 for adults.

Day return

Outward sailing and a return sailing by 04:30 the next morning. From £18.20 for adults.

Return

Outward sailing and a return sailing within 364 nights. From £26.00 for adults.

Evening flyer

Outward sailing after 16:00 but before 23:59 and a return sailing before 04:30am the next morning. From £14.80 for adults.

Checking in

  • As a foot passenger, you\'ll need to check in no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled sailing.

  • If you have an accessible travel booking, you must check in no later than 30 minutes before your scheduled sailing, but no earlier than one hour before.

  • We will try to accommodate late arrivals (those up to 2 hours late), provided there is space to do so, on the next available crossing. If you arrive more than two hours after your scheduled sailing time, a new ticket will need to be purchased.

Accessible travel

If you have a disability, reduced mobility, a medical condition or just need some extra assistance, get in touch with us at least 24 hours before you sailing and we should be able to help. You could also save money on your sailing with our Blue Badge discount.

Taking your bicycle

You can bring your bike along for free when you travel by foot on one of our ferries. Our FastCats, which run on the Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier Head route, come equipped with bicycle racks to keep your bike safe throughout your crossing.
